Confusing Politics

My neighbor confused by leader’s call to get involved in politics instead of paying attention to their own business.

My neighbor was previously ‘educated’ to agree that politics is everywhere and you are involved whether you like it or not. But now leader felt that businessmen are busy with their own core business instead of current politics.

However, one should not be deceived into thinking as long as you are actively involved in politics you are answering the call of leaders. What they want is involved positively in their political parties and not the other political parties. The latter political parties are the wrong kind of politics to them. Worse still if you decide to participate actively in politics in the wrong camp.

One should not wonder why the call of involvement in politics for the following reasons:

1) election is near
2) opposition might get a big margin in the coming election
3) Public is now not as close to them as before

Though the politics is confusing as long as you don’t involve actively in the wrong camp you are considered good men or women.

Some complained that even if you are in the same camp, showing too much enthusiasm might bring ‘isolation’ especially when you are doing the ‘right’ thing and threatening others ‘position’ in the camp. An extreme case of using the victim’s handwriting to attack camp leaders happened making politics ‘very dirty’.

Leaders desire members unreserved contribution but unable to take care of the very basic welfare and livelihood of members ; in the long run members still have to find a mean to survive on their own after shouting slogan with the leaders. This perhaps why members and public shy away from confusing politics.

Equal Opportunity Given To Be Rich?

My friend was so excited about it quickly read through the today front page news on Borneo Post only to be disappointed. To him, no equal chance has ever been given especially when BUMI special rights is/will be around with us for many years to come.

Even if equal chance do exist, that still depends on many factors to make one rich. First of all you must have the resources to get rich, that includes ‘you know who’, ‘you know how’ and ‘you got what’.

If you do not have the fund then you won’t have to fun to be rich.

If you do not know the right person who could assist you, you won’t have the right ‘jalan’ to move on to the ‘get rich’ path.

And if you do not have the ‘thing’ that the right person want, your chance to get rich is equal to zero.

True, trying to get rich is never an easy ‘job’, you must have the main three resources. But just may be what people want is not get rich opportunity but to have equal opportunity to enter local universities and government services. A fair deal in a democratic country.

Illicit outflows of Ringgit, whose responsibility?

The comments of Malaysiakini readers reflects how common people perceived such matter (http://malaysiakini.com/news/154249).

I still remember during financial crisis the ex PM Datuk Dr. Mahathir mentioned in newspaper he would sent a few hundred million Ringgit (or in USD?) to Indonesia to help our neighbor. If my memory did not fail me then next question is whether Cabinet knew about it and authorized such transfer of money. If it was on loan to Indonesia, were there any ‘black-and-white’ IOU favoring Malaysia government? If there was none then what would happen next to this money?

Who should be responsible for this transaction?

Kill Blame Culture?

Interesting idea from DCM of SMC Daniel Ngieng on “Blame Culture”. Yes, I agree with the logic of ‘stop blaming others’.

But, sometime we just can’t blame others having ‘blaming culture’ as people have run out of patience and ‘blaming others’ has become a ‘habit’ and now a ‘culture’.

May be we should kill not just blaming culture but also ‘delay culture’. During dinner function, dinner delayed because VVIP late for dinner. When applying for Permanent Resident status or any other matters, approval delayed prompting hardship and suspicious of waiting for “under-table money”. Flooding hit Sibu frequently, local people waited for so long for both a long-term and short-term solution and yet they see nothing. Immediate dredging of Rejang River is not in sight.

Therefore, delay-culture is definitely the source of all evils?

Petroleum loyalty

I read with interest today one YB would like to have the petroleum loyalty increased. May be Sarawak and Sabah as the deposit for BN should give due consideration or else BN depositors might do ‘withdrawal’ in the coming election?
